Trail Truth

How to

Two minutes of Trail Truth

Screen recordings of the real app on live data, nothing staged. Each tap shows as an orange ring. No sound; the captions say what is happening. Recorded on the Plumas and Butte County maps in October 2026.

49 seconds. A loop on Old Mill 24N05Y and Mtn House 25N17, Plumas National Forest.

Build a route and save it

  1. Map, then Plan, then the Route tool with Snap on.
  2. Tap along the trail. Each tap snaps to the road and the orange line follows it, not a straight line across the hill.
  3. Add adventure to drop in rides you already saved. The plan joins them by road.
  4. Done, then name it, pick a colour and a folder, and Save.
  5. Long-press the map to drop a pin with a note and a flag.
  6. It is waiting under Adventures, ready to send to a riding partner or export as GPX.
61 seconds. Plumas, Chico and Northern California.

What the map knows when you tap it

  1. Tap a Forest Service road: the dates it is open, vehicle by vehicle, with the agency's data date.
  2. Turn on Evacuation zones and tap one: its status and when it was last updated.
  3. Tap a parcel: APN, address, zoning and how old the county's data is.
  4. Switch on Fire, Smoke and Radar, each stamped with its time, and pull out to see the state.
  5. Offline: frame the area you are riding, see its size, download it before you lose signal.

Coming from onX?

Your tracks and waypoints come with you. Export them from onX as a GPX file and open it in Trail Truth: the four steps, with pictures.
